ExxonMobil’s key upstream assets include North Sea oil and natural gas production operations and onshore natural gas production in the Netherlands and Germany. In 2015, European operations accounted for 14 percent of ExxonMobil’s net oil and natural gas production.
Operations at nine refineries in Europe represent 30% of ExxonMobil’s global capacity. This European presence allows ExxonMobil to contribute to the economy, to ensure secure supplies of petroleum products, and to enable other important industries to operate in Europe.
Our six finished lubricant plants in Europe are fully integrated into our global supply network, with most of our lube basestocks sourced from our refineries and chemical plants.
Finally, Europe represents over 15 percent of our global chemical capacity. Major facilities in northwest Europe are highly integrated with ExxonMobil refineries, upstream facilities, and other chemical plants across the region.
