2006 safety and health awards
Safety comes first at ExxonMobil, and it shows. In 2006, our Baton Rouge area sites achieved notable safety records.

  • Employees at the Baton Rouge Refinery (BRRF) and the Baton Rouge Chemical Plant (BRCP) enjoyed their best-ever safety performance in 2006 as measured by injuries for both employees and contractors. The ExxonMobil Process Research Laboratories (EMPR) at the Baton Rouge Refinery were named OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Safety Through Accountability and Recognition (STAR) site.

  • Baton Rouge Plastics Plant (BRPP) employees now exceeded 17 years without a lost time injury. Additionally, Jacobs Engineering awarded Jacobs Field Services employees who work at BRPP with the 2006 Jacobs President’s HSE Excellence Award. BRPP won the Jacobs Client Service Award.

  • Baton Rouge Polyolefins Plant (BRPO) was recognized by the Louisiana Chemical Association with its “Best in Louisiana” SAFE Award for an unprecedented sixth consecutive year. The site also set an industry record winning the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association Distinguished Safety Award for the fourth year in a row.

  • Resin Finishing Plant (BRFP) had zero recordable injuries in 2006 among ExxonMobil employees with a record of more than 930 days in December.

  • Port Allen Lubricants Plant (PAL) received the OSHA VPP “STAR” status. In addition, Jacobs Field Services at the PAL was awarded the OSHA VPP “STAR” status.

  • The ExxonMobil Baton Rouge volunteer response team won first place in the nine-man rescue event at the national Industrial Rescue Training Symposium and Competition.
