December 2005 - ExxonMobil to Sponsor NBC Olympics Coverage - ExxonMobil will be a broadcast sponsor for NBC's coverage of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. NBC owns the exclusive U.S. media rights to the Olympic Games, the world's most prestigious sporting event.

November 2005 - Alliances making progress in quest for cleaner diesel - ExxonMobil is working with Toyota and Caterpillar in separate programs to design diesel fuel and engine systems that will significantly reduce emissions. Drawing on the strengths of each company, the effort has already produced groundbreaking research that brings new levels of understanding to combustion science.

November 2005 - QuestAir and ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company begin 2nd phase of project to develop on-board hydrogen generator - QuestAir Technologies Inc. announced that it has received a US$1.2 million engineering services contract from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company (“EMRE”) to support the development of an on-board hydrogen generator for potential use in a range of transportation markets.

November 2005 - ExxonMobil Advancement Cuts Drilling Time up to 35 Percent - Exxon Mobil Corporation announced that its drilling organization has developed an optimization process that consistently reduces the time required to drill oil and gas wells by up to 35 percent.

October 2005 - Exxon Mobil Corporation Announces Estimated Third Quarter 2005 Results - Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) today reported third quarter results. Earnings excluding special items were $8,300 million ($1.32 per share), an increase of $2,070 million from the third quarter of 2004. Third quarter net income also included a special gain of $1,620 million from the restructuring of the Corporation's interest in the Dutch gas transportation business ("Gasunie").

July 2005 - ExxonMobil sponsors Bislett Games - ExxonMobil has for the 18th time lent its name to this famous international arrangement, and this year it also marks the opening of the rebuilt Bislett Stadium. The Bislett stadium is well known among the general public of Norway and also among international athletes and ice skaters. It has been the venue for altogether 89 world records, and merely its name has positive connotations. The ExxonMobil Bislett Games is one of six Golden League arrangements. The tournament starts in Paris on 1st July, continues to Rome, Oslo, Zurich, Brussels and finally ends in Berlin 4th September.

July 2005 - ExxonMobil in the UK announced that it is donating £50,000 to the London Bombing Charitable Relief Fund established by the Mayor of London to assist the victims of the bombings, their families and dependants.

May 2005 - This year's advertising campaign debuted in Europe on May 2. The campaign is designed to raise awareness of energy efficiency, advanced energy research, advanced technologies, and science. In addition there is a new ad on energy and the environment.

April 2005 - ExxonMobil and its employees help victims of the tsunami - After the tsunami desaster ExxonMobil contributed an immediate donation of five million US dollars. Furthermore the corporation is making a significant contribution to help people in those areas hit by the tsunami disaster with its worldwide voluntary 1:1 donation campaign. ExxonMobil will double the amount of money donated worldwide by employees, pensioners and partners until March 31, 2005.

By the end of February, the amount of money donated world-wide was more than 1.9 billion dollars. Employees, pensioners and partners of ExxonMobil Central Europe have already donated more than 450,000 euros.

February 2005 -TU Delft and ECN press release: Together with Stanford University for clean energy - Over a period of three years, The Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and TU Delft together will receive 2,3 million Dollars for innovative research in the field of energy related technology, in an effort to reduce greenhouse gasses.
